Home to two bars, one restaurant and one of the biggest beer gardens in Belfast, The Dirty Onion offers entertainment seven nights a week, with a strong focus on authentic traditional Irish music. Oh and it's free entry every night! A strong partnership with local Irish music school ‘An Droichead’ has helped bring together a fantastic arrangement of Irish music, with contemporary live bands and acoustic acts to see you through the weekend.
MONDAYS:
Ciorcal Comhra (Music & Irish Conversation Circle)
The Dirty Onion welcome those who wish to speak the Irish language to converse together. It can also be an opportunity for those who are learning the language to speak with others and improve your skills. We combine this with some traditional Irish music by the fire.

TUESDAYS:
Bodrán lessons with Rohan Young
Would you like to learn how to play a traditional Irish instrument? The bodhran is the original Irish drum and is the heartbeat of traditional Irish music. Learn to play at The Dirty Onion every Tuesday - lessons are free and bodhrans are provided.

Harp and trad session with Ciara Ní Thath and friends
Ciara Ni Thath is one of Northern Ireland’s most talented Harpists. Enjoy Ciara’s classical Irish melodies, blended with other trad instruments, bringing an entertaining combination!.

Live bluegrass session with The Broken String Band
Whether it’s foot tapping or a good proper jig, the Broken String Band are a fantastic five-piece bluegrass band sure to get you going with their mix of old and contemporary songs. Influenced by Irish and American folk music.

FRIDAYS:
Matt Wilson - 6pm-9pm - Matt brings a bit of soul into the Onion with an acoustic set of contemporary and classic songs to get you in the mood for the weekend.
Realta - 9pm-late - Trad session with Realta, one of Belfast’s finest traditional Irish music bands.
Live band: 10pm-late - Head out to The Dirty Onion beer garden and you'll catch one of the resident live bands. Runaway GO and the Nine Inch Niall’s play alternate Fridays.
SATURDAYS:
Trad sessions - 2pm-4pm & 8pm-11pm - Fireside traditional Irish tunes
Matt Jones - 6pm-8pm - Matt brings a unique and entertaining arrangement of contemporary songs. Excellent guitarist and vocalist.
Live Band - 11pm-1am - Head upstairs for Yardbird Unplucked and catch one of The Dirty Onion's resident acts. Drum & Bates and the Russian Dolls play alternate Saturdays.
